Demag DRS & DRS-M Wheel Block System

DRS and DRS-M travel wheel blocks are both high-performance travel wheel block systems produced by Demagcranes, which are similar in some respects, but also have their own characteristics and advantages.
Product Description:

DRS and DRS-M travel wheel blocks are both high-performance travel wheel block systems produced by Demagcranes, which are similar in some respects, but also have their own characteristics and advantages. Here are the main differences between DRS and DRS-M wheel blocks:

Design and Materials:

DRS: The original DRS travel wheel block was launched in 1997 with eight different wheel sizes to suit different needs. The specific models are DRS112, DRS125, DRS160, DRS200, DRS250, DRS315, DRS400, DRS500.

DRS-M: DRS-M is a further developed version of DRS wheel with enhanced functional features. The housing of the DRS-M consists of two identical halves mounted together, manufactured in Wetter, Germany, in a high-quality, corrosion-resistant die-cast aluminum material with a powder-coated finish.

The Loading Capacity:

DRS-M 112 to 200 (load capacity from 2.75 to 10 t)

DRS 250 to 500 (load capacity from 16 to 40 t)

Installation and Alignment:

DRS-M: With an innovative mounting lock, the wheel block can be quickly replaced without time-consuming realignment. The alignment fixture is fixed to the steel structure and ensures accurate positioning of the travelling wheel block even after replacement.

Guide Roll and Buffer Preparation:

DRS-M: If the application requires a roller guide along the track or cushioning, the DRS-M travel wheel case housing is ready to mount the roller guide, and unlike the original DRS travel block, the DRS-M travel wheel comes ready with threaded hole faces, making installation or replacement easy.

Modularity and Versatility:

DRS-M: The DRS-M system offers more modularity and versatility, can accommodate higher horizontal forces, and offers seven different wheel material options, including ductile iron, polyamide, and Hydropur tires.

In summary, the DRS-M wheel block is an enhanced version of the DRS Travel wheel block, offering additional functional features such as improved Installation and alignment mechanisms, enhanced roll guide preparation and modularity and versatility. The DRS-M is designed to improve efficiency, simplify maintenance and enhance performance.
