Demag DRS travel wheel blocks are cast with spheroidal graphite cast iron(GGG-70) and have an anti-rust coating on the surface to improve durability and corrosion resistance. The self-lubricating properties of ductile iron can reduce friction during operation and reduce wear on wheels and tracks. In addition, wheels of other materials can also be provided, such as alloy steel (to increase surface hardness) or polyurethane (Vulkollan®) coating (for special environments).

The DRS wheel box shell adopts a precise split design, which is fixed by bolts (not welding), and the wheels can be quickly replaced separately, reducing maintenance time and cost. The integrated outer shell of the wheelset and the dispersed mounting port design make it possible to achieve a top connection, single-side connection, or pin connection, reduce the use of connectors, and make installation more convenient.
• Stable operation, adaptable to complex working conditions
DRS wheel blocks use double-flange ball bearings, which can ensure high-intensity and stable operation even in harsh environments of -30℃ to 90℃. Some special models can work normally under working conditions up to 200℃. In addition, sufficient grease is pre-installed inside the walking wheel to ensure lifelong self-lubrication in high-temperature, dusty, humid environments, reducing maintenance requirements.

The drive shaft of the DRS wheel block adopts a conical transmission device, which is fixed by tightening bolts, which can effectively disperse the load-bearing pressure and improve durability. Compared with traditional spline shafts, it is more wear-resistant and impact-resistant. In addition, the 42CrMo4+QT spline drive shaft manufactured by DIN5480 standards is compatible with sleeves and gear sets from different manufacturers, enhancing the adaptability of the wheel block. The central drive unit uses a single-gear mechanism to drive two-wheel blocks to ensure high torque transmission and efficient operation.
